Interview: With Mr. Joe L. Dudley, President and CEO of Dudley

Wekesa Madzimoyo (WM):
WM: “Mr. Dudley, over your lifetime and your building of the
internationally known Dudley Products, you have become
acquanted with many tax and financial service professionals. Given
that experience, and your more recent experience with Dr.
Mayfield, please tell us about and rate his performance.
JD: “I have dealt over the years with a lot of tax folks, and I have
never met a person like Dr. Mayfield. I call him ‘doctor’ - he is
‘doctor’.” “Absolutely! I mean, he’s a tax doctor.
WM: (laughs)
JD: (laughs) “He just really knows…he has the knowledge and
understanding…and he understands the laws that govern tax, and he
continues to understand it…and we are…we get so much and I had
no idea…well, let me put it this way…if I had worked with him and
known him years ago, I know that he would have saved us millions
of dollars because he would have told us how to do it. It was a
short time that he worked on our business – over half a million
dollars or more he saved us.”
WM: “Wow!”
JD: “I mean he knows how to dig in and find out how to help the
taxpayer. He helps them all. He knows the rules. He knows how
to do it right. He does it right.”
WM: “So you’re saying…”
JD: “He’s quick. He doesn’t waste time. He’s on top of it.”
WD: “Hmmm, so you saved a half million, or nearly a half million
dollars. And how long have you been working with him?”
JD: “Three years.”
WM: If you turn back the clock to when Dudley was just beginning
to get rolling, how would that have helped you?”
JD: “Well, let me tell you, working with Jackie is success. Many
people who are out of business today, wouldn’t be, if they would
have had the opportunity to work with Dr. Mayfield. They would be
in business today ‘cause he knows how to do it right.
Dr. Mayfield has an explanation for everything. I can sleep at night
with Dr. Mayfield.
You can sleep at night ‘cause you know your business is taken care
of the right way.”
WM: “Wow!”
JD: “There’s not only that. He has fought …he is right there with
the IRS, and he will go fight for you. And he’s so reasonable with
what he does – he’s good. He’s really good!”
WM: “That’s fantastic, fantastic! I really appreciate the success that
you have had over the years, and that you have taken this time in
letting those who are listening really understand the importance of
having a good tax professional as they build their businesses. I
think many of us don’t know how important that is, but the tax bills
are gonna be the largest bills you pay. Isn’t that right?”
JD: “Yes. Before Dr. Mayfield, I was having so much difficulty
with the IRS. I went in there to pay $50,000 or more, and he looked
at my taxes – looked at them the right way- and showed me what to
do because I’m a sales business person, and taxes aren’t my
specialty. I don’t even want to deal with it, tell the truth about it.
And you don’t have to do it when you got Dr. Jackie Mayfield. You
don’t have to …if you file the way he advises you to do, you can
sleep at night and not worry about it. Over the years, I have paid
millions of dollars in taxes, but if I had Dr. Mayfield beside me all
along, I’m sure he would have saved me over $3 million dollars and
I would have operated a whole different way.”
WM: “Well, thank you so much. I know our listeners will benefit
from your knowledge. Again, we’ve been talking this evening to
Dr. Joe Dudley, the founder and builder of Dudley Products. He’s
also the author of several books. Dr. Dudley, would you tell us their
names?”
JD: “Walking By Faith, and we’ve done quite a few different audio
productions - , and we did a book (on) Dudley Hair Care Fact Book,
but Walking By Faith is our major book. We’ve sold over 75,000 of
them.”
WM: “Fantastic! Well, we encourage those who are listening to go
out and get Walking By Faith, written by a person who has walked
by faith, and has succeeded tremendously. Again, thank you Dr.
Dudley for taking this time with us.”
JD: “And thank you.”

Dudley Products, Inc., is one of the world's largest manufacturers and
distributors of haircare and beauty products and is a provider of basic and
advanced training for cosmetologists.
Born May 9, 1937, he is the fifth of 11 children born to Gilmer L. and
Clara Yeates Dudley. Joe grew up in a three-room farm house in the rural
community of Aurora, in eastern North Carolina.
