Day Care Center Script/Process

Hi my name is ___________.  May I please speak with the person in charge of curriculum/educational, staff and or parent development? 

I am calling from the 21^st Century Underground Railroad.   We have an educational packet and program, and I need only 5 minutes of your time.

Hopefully Mr./Ms. Daycare asks, “What is this about?”  If s/he doesn’t, say “What this is about is “Statistics have shown and it’s now common knowledge that students who are culturally grounded do better academically and are more socially responsible.

Asians upon first coming to this country take cultural classes on Saturdays to stay connected to the traditions and values of their grandparents and ancestors.

We know of Saturday Jewish schools too.   These students do best in school.

The school system and television doesn’t do the best job to insure that AA children are culturally grounded.  As a result, our children’s academic performance is dropping steadily and they’re not socially responsible to our communities. 

We have a solution:  21^st Century URR – 12-month course  -- instruction including a video textbook consisting of 6 DVDs.

Denzel captures our mission better than we could.  Have you seen the Great Debaters?  Find, take back and keep our righteous minds.  These students’ righteous minds tell them they’re not good, not beautiful, and not smart.  When you think this way, you won’t learn, won’t think of your people as good, your community as good, your teachers or your learning center.

When we help them find and keep their righteous minds, they go on to become their best as the students in the Great Debaters from Wiley College.

You’re in a very honored place; you have them at this stage.  They catch these these messages from us as adults.  As we become more aware of these issues and heal these issues within ourselves – take back and keep our righteous minds – we can help them.

2.       Send a designated staff person to the Monthly seminars to have a support group to learn along with.  S/he may share how his/her group is using the DVM series and also hear how others are.  They will also get suggestions for continued staff development activities that will be very useful.

3.       Also,  Total staff may attend seminar via LCD Projector

4.       Set of 6 DVDs

Benefits to the staffs of Day Care Centers

·         Staff members will teach the best of who we are – they can’t do that if they don’t know; the DVDs will teach them

·         Staff members will teach students our history – ancient to present

·         Staff will expose children to great models of our folks who serve our community – will wave stories of Black self-made millionaires into their lessons

When would you like to take delivery of your DVM?  – At this time, we’ll schedule you for the first monthly seminar.

When you have answer on whether or not they will buy, say thank you.  If the answer is yes, have them activate their orders.  If they can’t buy today, of course, make note of the projected time and follow-up accordingly.

If they say no, ask, “Do you think this is a good program, worthwhile effort?”  If they say “yes,” say thank you.  I do too.  That’s why I’m proud to be an affiliate, a tax preparer of ComproTax, the major corporate sponsor of the DVM series.  Do you have a good tax preparer that you are satisfied with?  If they say no, “May I stay in touch with you as we get closer to the season?”  Engage them as best you can regarding taxes, providing good information that shows your expertise.  Follow-up regularly to schedule.

Lastly, you'd like to make this possible for the parents too.  "May we set up a presentation for your parents whereby they purchase and you make a commission of $10.00 each time?  They also could participate in the monthly seminars as part of your parent development program.

African Proverb:

That’s exactly why our homes need a television program that will not be televised. Current television programming is ruining our children’s minds, and has already warped our sense of values and reality. One reason parents and caregivers don’t take charge of what our children are watching is that they don’t know what to put in it’s place.

Now, you can give them something to replace the negative programming. Give them the “Television Program That Will Not Be Televised!” They will not only be able watch positive video, because of our monthly seminars and DVM Family Site, parents also will be able to spin additional stories, provide needed information, and guide them through Internet searches that will help them to find, take back and keep their righteous minds.

Our DVM Summer program is called Hot Summer Fun: Engaging not Escaping. It starts in July for Student-Warriors and Sales Warriors. The seminar is on Monday, June 21st, 2008. Mark your calendars!

The sessions are for July, August and September:

• Education - Wrapped in Gold and Clothed in Education: Counter the Mind Control
• Youth and Adult Entrepreneur Development: What’s Your Advantage?
• Parenting- Parenting from Rags to Riches: What the Parents and Grandparents of Black Self-Made Millionaires can teach us about raising our children and grandchildren.

Each month during Hot Summer Fun - Engaging, not Escaping, student-warriors are directed a particular DVM session to watch . From our DVM family site (starting in July) they can also find and download follow up quizzes, activities, Internet searches and resources to make the learning come alive. Of course at the live seminars they can ask questions and make comments to facilitate peer learning and discovery.

“Saving us...”

For if it’s true that the ruin of a nation begins in the homes of it’s people, it’s also true that the building of a nation begins in the homes of our people.

It’s been proven that students (regardless of age) do better academically when they are culturally grounded. They are also more socially responsible. It’s also be proven that schools won’t give our children the kind of cultural grounding needed to heal apathy and alienation. Summer time is a great time for us to give our children the roots so they can have wings to fly!

Help us build this nation. Do whatever you have to do! Get 10 families or organizations to join the 21st Century UGRR. Equip them to stop our ruin, to restore our people to our traditional greatness, to restore us as leaders in the world.

Make sure you tell somebody, no! Tell everybody! Every parents, every church, every organization, every program working with our youth and our people must attend this summer session - Hot Summer Fun - Engaging, not Escaping.
