Developing A Culture of Business
Awards
The Best of The Best

Compro-Tax, Inc. was recognized nationally through an award accepted by its founder, Jackie Mayfield, for being a company of entrepreneurs, and for being a company that is reviving and developing a culture of business in our communities, city, states across this nation.

Those honored here can only succeed by helping others do the same. So the awards today are a celebration of the collective success of many communities from around the country. The leaders are not elected, nor appointed. They are the men and women who have the vision, personal fortitude, and  conviction to lift themselves by rendering distinguished service to our communities. They are leaders developing a culture of business of our communities.

How Do We Develop A Culture of Business?

Developing a culture of business is not just business instruction, not just sales, service, marketing, and profit and loss statements. It is all that and more. It is also developing family appetites and expectations for us to create or join others to build businesses. It's developing habits of supporting our businesses and expectations that we'll be supported in business (See the Empowerment Experiment). It's learning to give ourselves permission to start, learn lessons, and grow to success. It's learning about and drawing on our long and very successful history of business.

Business development, creating jobs for ourselves is the key to sustained educational and social change in our communities. There is a reciprocal - chicken and egg - relationship between business and education. Education provides students who are knowledgeable, skilled and desiring to help make business grow and develop in ways the serve the community’s needs. Business sponsors and supports education, and provides opportunities for graduates to earn the income to feed their families, and enjoy life.

The business people that will be recognized here are those who are developing a culture of business in their communities by modeling and teaching.

They are in business taking the risks, learning the lessons, growing and reaping the rewards. To become successful in the COMPRO-TAX model they also have to teach others to do the same. They are walking-the-walk, and talking-the-talk!

Main stream media will not show you these leaders. They make up what Dr. Martin Luther King called - "The Ground Crew." They make it happen. This weekend we will set them center-stage. They will be gathered to inspire us all and to inform us of their successful ways.

We as a cultural community should all be inspired to uplift and share in the excitement of those who are leading the way for future generations.

You will have two opportunities to be inspired and informed:

The Sub-Brokers Awards will be presented on Friday Evening
Chike Akua is the keynote speaker for this event. Education that is rich in positive identity, history, mission, and purpose key for us developing a culture of business. Master educator, Chike Akua, shows us how to re-educate ourselves, and our children. This type of education is not likely to be prominent in the standard school curriculum. It is something that we must do! Dr. John Henrik Clarke reminds us that powerful people don't teach powerless people to take power away from them. Chike makes it easy.

The Founders Awards will be presented on Saturday evening.
George Fraser, master net worker and business developer will be our keynote speaker for this occasion. George's speciality -networking - helps us develop a culture of business. We have for too long be alienated from each other. Myths of "rugged individualism" have too often left us limited because we're isolated- “doing our own thing.” Connectedness is a key to power. George Fraser embodies that and show us how to use it to grow our business and communities.
